Getting There And Important Info

Getting here is quite easy but here comes an explanation on the most common ways :)

Air Plane

The nearest airport to the Perhentians is the Airport in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Both Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia has daily flights from Kuala Lumpur.

After arriving in Kota Bharu, you can take a taxi to get to Kuala Besut in about an hour. When you arrive in Kuala Besut you go to one of the travel agents there (for example Bahtera Layar Abadi) who has daily boats to the Island. Tell them to drop you at Coral Bay (Small Island) and you will find our place in the middle of the beach.

Train

From Kuala Lumpur, go to KL Sentral Station and stop at Wakaf Bharu, Kelantan. They have trains every day and you will arrive in Wakaf Bharu the next morning.

After arriving at Wakaf Bharu, you can take a taxi to get to Kuala Besut in about an hour. When you arrive in Kuala Besut you go to one of the travel agents there (for example Bahtera Layar Abadi) who has daily boats to the Island. Tell them to drop you at Coral Bay (Small Island) and you will find our place in the middle of the beach.

Bus

From Kuala Lumpur, you can take the bus straight to Kuala Besut and from there take the boat straight to the island. Go to one of the travel agencies there (for example Bahtera Layar Abadi) and get your boat ticket to the island. Tell them to drop you off at Coral Bay on the small island and you will find our place in the middle of the beach.

From Thailand / Kota Bharu

If you come from Thailand the easiest way is to go to Sungai Golok on the Thai border and cross to Rantau Panjang on the Malay side.
From there you can get a taxi to Kuala Besut (about 1 1/2 hour). If you come from Kota Bharu you do the same.
Once you`ve arrived in Kuala Besut go to one of the travel agencies (for example Bahtera Layar Abadi) and buy your boat ticket to the island. Tell them to drop you on Coral Bay on the small island and you will find our place in the middle of the beach.



Important Information

Once you`ve arrived here it is good to know that there are no ATM`s on the island. However, you can get Cash Advanced from some places for a charge of 10%.

In our Dive Shop you can also pay with credit card for a charge of 5%.

The season ranges from February - October so from November - January everything is closed over here. High season ranges from June - August so it is advisable to book your room in advance.
